Fall Semester Legal Internship/ Law Clerk Position

Centurion Ministries (d/b/a Centurion) is currently accepting applications for a 2023 fall semester intern and/or law clerk. More than one vacancy may be filled from this announcement. The deadline to apply is July 24, 2023.

 

The fall semester internship and/or clerkship is part-time, with an option to extend the internship to the spring semester if desired.

 

The Role:
Each legal intern/clerk will receive one case to evaluate and recommend whether Centurion should take on the case, requiring them to work closely with Centurion’s case development team. In addition, the role will require the legal intern/clerk to complete research projects for, assist in the preparation for hearings and depositions, and participate in investigations.

 

Centurion attorneys also aim to fight the injustices that lead to wrongful convictions. The intern/clerk may also have the opportunity to work on amicus briefs and shadow Centurion attorneys in court.

 

The ideal candidate:

    • Is rising 2L or Recent graduates will be considered for a clerkship position.
    • Welcomes the challenge of conducting multi-jurisdictional legal research and possesses strong legal research skills.
    • Is passionate about freeing clients who have been wrongfully convicted, committed to racial justice, and providing representation to people marginalized under the law.
    • Carries a determination to read through voluminous case files and
    • Is collaborative and has a willingness to learn from Centurion’s
    • Is legally authorized to work in the United

This is a hybrid position, requiring an intern and/or clerk to appear in the office no more than once a week. Travel to state facilities may be requested.

 

Compensation:
Centurion will provide a modest stipend.
